          January = Enero

          February = Febrero

          March = Marzo

          April = Abril

           May = Mayo

          June = Junio

          July = Julio

           August = Agosto

           September = Septiembre

          October = Octubre

          November = Noviembre

           December = Diciembre

¿Cuál es la fecha de hoy? 

 What is today's date?

 Hoy es diez de agosto 

 Today is the tenth of Augut

 Hoy es veinte de agosto 

 Today is Augut twentieth
Note:

 The name of the month are not capitalized in Spanish

 In Spanish, the month comes after the day. In English the month can come before or after the day.

 In Spanish cardinal numbers are normally used to talk about dates, while in English ordinal numbers are used.

 Use the preposition "de" when talking about a specific day within a month and put the word between the day and the month.

 Mi cumpleaños es el tres de abril.

 My birthday is the third of April.
To say something happens in a month, use the preposition "in"

    Voy a Italia en Marzo.

    I'm going to Italy in March.

    Mi cumpleaños es en octubre.

    My birthday is in October.

    El clima es agradable en mayo.

    The weather is nice in May.

    Las clases empiezan en septiembre.

    Classes begin in September.

Plural Nouns in Spanish

Today we are going to learn how to make Spanish nouns plural. Just as in English, in Spanish there are nouns that name one thing (singular nouns), and nouns that name more than one thing (plural nouns) To make a singular noun plural, all you need to do is to look at the last letter in the word. Why? Because, Spanish singular to plural are formed by adding specific ends to the nouns. So, in this lesson you will find the basic rules for making nouns plural in Spanish. If the word ends in a vowel (a,e,i,o,u), just add the letter "s" at the end of the word. For nouns that end in these specific stressed vowels: í and ú we may add both "es" or "s" If the word ends in a consonant we must add "es" at the end of the word to make it plural. Today's lesson is about Spanish Subject Pronouns. La lección de hoy trata sobre los pronombres personales en español. A subject pronoun is a word   that takes the place of a noun as the subject of a sentence. For the plural pronouns, if the group referred to is all male, use the masculine ending: nosotros / ellos. If it is a mix of male and female, use the masculine ending too: nosotros / ellos If it is all female, use the feminine ending: nosotras / ellas. Juan, Pedro y Ana escuchan música. Ellos escuchan música. Juan, Pedro and Ana listen to music. They listen to music. Juana y María están felices. Ellas están felices. Juana and María are happy. They are happy. Use “tú” for people you know well, such as family, friends, and younger people. This is the informal way to say “you”. Use “usted” to show respect. But, how do you know the gender of a noun? If you want to be sure, you have to learn them by heart. Spanish Expression: Mi media Naranja

Today we are going to learn a very common Spanish expression: Mi Media Naranja. This phrase is informal, it has an humorously and affectionate tone, similar to "my better half". This expression comes from Plato's Symposium, where Aristophanes told that originally humans were spherical like oranges, they  were double (man-woman, woman, woman, and man-man),  they had two opposite faces on the same head, four arms and four legs that they used to move by rolling, . Then one day, Zeus decided to split them in two. Since then we have all been presumably searching for the literally missing half we long to be reunited with. Example sentences: 1. Today we are going to learn the definite articles in Spanish.  Hoy aprenderemos los artículos definidos en español.  Definite articles are used to talk about specific nouns. In Spanish, nouns are often accompanied by articles. Spanish articles indicate: the word's gender (masculine or feminine ) the word's number (singular or plural )   In English the definite article is the word "the" regardless of wheter the noun it introduces is singular or plural. But in Spanish there are four forms: el, la, los, las, depending on wheter the noun is masculine, feminine, singular or plural.
