          Thursday = Jueves

          Friday = Viernes

Use the correct articles for the Days of the Week in Spanish

This means that when you’re referring to a day, you must use the masculine articles el or los.
In English, it's used the preposition “on” to talk about something happening on a specific day. But in Spanish, when talking about days of the week, it's used the articles el and los to mean “on.”
Use the singular masculine article el when talking about one single occurrence.

  • el lunes
  • el martes
  • el miércoles
  • el jueves
  • el viernes
  • el sábado
  • el domingo
 Ellos juegan fútbol el sábado.
(They play football on Saturday)

Nos vamos de compras el viernes

(We go shopping on Friday)

Tengo una cita el miércoles

I have a date on Wednesday

El lunes empiezo mi nuevo trabajo

I start my new job on monday

Llegaré el martes por la mañana

I will arrive on Tuesday morning

Use the plural masculine article los when talking about something that happens habitually.

How to make the Plural form of the Days of the Week

Sometimes, you need to talk about days of the week in the plural. When making days of the week plural, only add an s if the word doesn’t already end in s. Otherwise, the word stays the same in the plural form.
So, the plural forms of the days are:
  • los lunes
  • los martes
  • los miércoles
  • los jueves
  • los viernes
  • los sábados
  • los domingos
 Me gusta cocinar los domingos.
I like to cook on Sundays

La mucama viene los martes y viernes

The maid comes on Tuesdays and Fridays

Ella suele venir quí los miércoles

She usually comes here on wednesdays

Ël solo está en la oficina los lunes

He is only in the office on Mondays

Los sábados solo trabajo en las mañanas

ON Saturdays I only work in the morning

Cada (every)

Use cada to talk about routines that occur every week. With cada, use the singular form of the day of the week and omit the article el.
Cada jueves tengo clase de Español.
(Every Thursday, I have my Spanish class.)

Todos los (every)

Todos los literally translates to “all of the,” but when talking about days of the week, use it just as you would say “every” in English. It’s very similar to cada. The only difference is that "Todos los" is plural, so you must use the pronoun los and the plural form of the days of the week.
Voy al cine todos los jueves.
(I go to the movies every Thursday.)

De…a… (from….to…)

Use this phrase to talk about a range of dates.
Trabajo de lunes a viernes.
(I work from Monday to Friday.)

 El próximo lunes es feriado.

Next Monday is a holiday.

El domingo pasado, fuimos a la playa.

Last Sunday, we went to the beach.

Voy al cine todos los miércoles.

I go to the movies every Wednesday.

Mi cumpleaños cae en jueves este año.

My birthday falls on a Thursday this year.

Trabajo de lunes a viernes.
